You Can Make A Floating Bed In Your Bedroom

Many of us want that uniqueness in every room in our house. We are in constant lookout for better styles that can make our rooms look spectacular.  And that’s the same way Reddit user elemenohpee did, by making a bed that seems to be suspended in the air.

It’s not complicated in making one in your bedroom. You first get some wood and build a frame that is 20 inches from the floor. Construct a diagonal that will remain invisible to support the weight of the hanging corner. It is necessary to add more beams for support. After you have done all that, construct a platform on it using plywood so that it does not end up being too heavy. Finish by putting the mattress on it. If you need to do some more invention, you can do some connection below the bed to look attractive.

A point to note regarding the bed’s stability is that after some time, more support beams will be added just to be sure. Another advantage with this design is that there will be plenty of room underneath it to store your stuff.

First, this frame was built.

The frame is 20 inches from the floor.

 

A diagonal beam carries the weight in the “floating” corner.

They attached that beam at an angle so that it’s hidden from view.

 

Clever, right?

More support beams were added after that.

 

And then the platform was made using plywood.

 

Finally, the mattress and bedclothes were arranged, and some lights were fastened underneath to drive the illusion home.
