I love to do projects on my leisure time, more especially if they are to deal with wood. The reason is because there is no limit of invention when you are using wood. It does not matter if the wood is old and you are recycling it, or it a new one bought from the store. From books, magazines, to even the internet, there are endless wood projects that are worth a try!
One of the wood projects that impressed me was the transforming of the pickup truck back with wood.
This guy, had a pickup truck of Toyota Tacoma model, and transformed its rear to contain a bed and drawer compartments. I swear I had never seen something similar!
This transformation of a pickup truck to an adventure truck is surely cool. With that kind of vehicle, it’s suitable for camping and performing off road functions. I really need a truck like that to start out camping!

To retrofit his pickup, this DIYer first built the frame for his drawer system in the bed of of the truck.
He writes on Imgur, “I used old skateboard bearings for the drawer slides. They were free and can handle a lot of weight.”
He installed a large drawer, as well as a top wooden layer.
He fit his drawer with dividers for storage, and installed a lockable handle on the end.
He created several hatches as well. This particular forward hatch was created to store a second battery.
Several of the hatches, such as this one, were the “perfect size for a tent or sleeping bags.”

He coated the drawer frame with waterproof sealant, and covered the hatch covers with several coats of varnish.
He installed speakers in the back as well, to provide music for any camping site he might be visiting.
He added LED lights on the canopy door, as well as “a handle to make it easier to close when you are inside.”
One of the coolest features? He added a switch to his dash that would control the speakers in the back of the truck.
He also made it possible to pull out the wooden cover with the drawer so that it could act as a table.
This DIYer concludes that with the bed in place for sleeping, his truck is now “ready for some adventures.” And this cool retrofitting only took him a month to complete!
This pickup truck transformation is absolutely perfect for camping trips and off-road adventures.
