Have you ever sat down by and wondered how our imagination can be very amazing? Sometimes when we look at shadows and we match them with monsters, we see clouds resembling animals, and many others.
Most cool projects are known to be made out of junk that is meant to be thrown away. This is a result from an investigation that was carried out.
There are many reasons why we should be upcycling things, or making other things out of the already existing items that are old. This is because it results to being pocket friendly, increases our creativity level and above that, it helps in the planet conservation.
The most thrilling upcycling project that I have ever seen is that one of the coffee containers!
When Scott, a blogger who was riding on skates, spotted an empty can of Folgers lying at the garbage, he never saw it to be trash. Instead what lay before his eyes was an inspiration.
The advantage of this project is that the kids can be part of it, and it’s pretty entertaining converting a junk into something important. The only thing that you should be careful of is with the utility knife!

Just before throwing out his old coffee canisters, Scott was struck with a brilliant idea. He would transform the old containers into unique yard art!
In addition to old coffee canisters, Scott grabbed an empty non-dairy creamer bottle, an old instant coffee container, and some solar lights.
After his supplies were gathered, Scott used a utility knife to carefully remove the canisters’ bottoms and cut holes into the fronts.

Then, he grabbed some outdoor spray paint.
Next, he painted the interior of the creamer bottle bright yellow.
Once that was dry, he painted the exterior dark brown. He let that dry outside.

After painting the other canisters, too, he used craft paint to start decorating.
He painted the area around the eyes yellow so that the eyes would appear to glow.
Then, he used caulk to glue the canisters on top of each other to form a tower.
As the caulk dried, he used tape to hold the structure together.
Next, he popped a little solar light inside the containers.
When he was done, he had adorable upcycled tiki statues, perfect for welcoming guests on the front porch!
With the lights on, the eyes and mouths seem to glow!
From trash to tiki statues, these old coffee canisters have definitely been made new again!
Isn’t this a fun and creative way to upcycle old coffee containers?
