Although the idea of “anthill art” looks to be strange, its somewhat exceptional and wonderful type of art. The process of making it is simple, as molten aluminum is poured at the top of the anthill, where it infiltrates the tunnels and fissures the colony. Later it hardens forming a cast. Afterwards the cast is cleaned off and placed on the Anthill Art website.

The inventor of this art who is not known, started to do it a few years ago. On 22nd, November 2013, he posted a fire ant colonycasting video for the first time. From that time to this current day, the clip as received over 63 million views. The viewers must have been thrilled!

Other people view this as a horrible act to the ants, since the colony of ants is killed with the molten metal, which is true. But the artist revealed in YouTube to be using a colony of the invasive ants only

most of the casts of this artist are from fire ant colonies, which are a risk to the environment, as the HungryPests reveal. Apart from their bites being painful and deadly, the also can destroy crops. So the artist chooses to kill the ants using his method which helps create nice castings other than using pesticides.

Not everybody applauds the creation of this casts. From the comments left on YouTube, this art is not liked by many because of the negative effects that it causes to the ants. Even if the artist makes the casts from the invasive ants, the pain he causes them is bad.

Although the process is disliked by many, the viewers have nodded to the incredibility of the casts. The artist gave a confession of how he was massively asked to sell his castings. He finally sold the castings on eBay. Currently, there is a list of people that are awaiting to be sold the castings.
