Crop Box, a branch of Williamson Greenhouses which is a company that converts shipping containers to stackable greenhouses thinks to have found an answer to this problem.

This branch known as Crop Box, has shipping containers which are permanently contained on a specific piece of land where they sustain agricultural growth without making use of large pieces of land. Apart from piling these shipping containers themselves, one can also pile rows of produce on each of the containers.

In the inside of the containers, there is an excellent thriving live of greens, herbs, and lettuce, while the outside of them the weather is irregular and unfavorable. Not only are they fit for greens growing, but also they are perfect for growing micro greens up to 84 tons per year, 140 tons of fodder per year, and 7000 pounds of strawberries per year.

A comparison carried out indicates that a 2,200 square-foot greenhouse, yields the same as a 320 square-foot shipping container.
