He Starts By Arranging The Stones On A Vast Field

I always consider every art to be unique in its own way. It’s true when they say that every art is a manifestation of its creator, and you will never find two similar people.

To attain the uniqueness, the artist makes sure he employs creativity.

Just to give an example, some artists create their lovely arts from the trash and unwanted material. Others are able to come up with food art or even plant art.

Stan Herd is an artist that for a long time, he has been employing trash, flowers, grass and other flora to come up with beautiful arts on huge fields.

All started back in 1981, when he practically pared a wonderful portrait of 160 acre of Satanta, a Kiowa Indian chief, and turned it into a Kansas Prairie. From that time, he has carves a lot of what is known as “earthworks.” Of all the works, the latest art is impressing very much.

Minneapolis Institute of Art, contracted him to make an imitation of Van Gogh’s Olive Trees. Watch what he finally made. You really must see it, to agree that it’s a masterpiece.

Before he could embark on this massive project, 64-year-old artist Stan Herd had to plan out how he was going to pull this off. First, he printed out a copy of Van Gogh’s piece, then drew a grid over it and made a plan.

Then he got to work on a field in the Eagan, Minnesota, near Thomson Reuters campus.

The field, or his “canvas,” measured 1.2 acres across.

The project took him six months of mowing, digging, and planting to complete.
