The following needs to be done:

With the help of a plunger, water is got rid from the toilet

Use a towel to soak the remaining water

Vinegar is then poured into the bowl in such a way that it covers all the stains

Toilet paper is soaked in the vinegar and then applied on the stains that may be at the bowl’s rim

Vinegar should be then let to soak for more than one hour (should be left overnight for maximal results)

The bowl is then scrubbed and all the stains are gone. (Hard scrubbing may be required for those hard water stains that develop under the rim)
