Other Seven Uses Of A Plastic Wrap That You Were Not Aware Of!

If you ask many people what a plastic wrap is meant for, they will tell you that is for wrapping leftovers so that they can stay fresh. They don’t know that the wrap has other uses. Below are some of the seven uses you can use it for.

1. A plastic wrap can be used to regulate the ripening of a fruit. For instance if you have a whole banana and your need is for it not to ripen at once, then you need to wrap some in a plastic wrap to slow their ripening. Contrary, you can speed up the ripening process of a fruit by placing it in a bowl with another fruit which releases ethylene gas like apples and bananas and then wrap it with the plastic bag. The gas will make the other to fruit ripen faster.
2. If you have a wine that has been re-corked and you need to drink it, then use the plastic wrap. The wrap will take out the gross taste that a chemical known as Trichloroanisole, also known as cork taint produces. To remove it, wrap the bottom of a wine pitcher and spin, and that’s it!
3. You can use a plastic wrapper to make the perfect and decorative lines on the dough for making pies. To accomplish that, you spread the plastic wrap on top of a chilled dough and then using a cutter press down slightly. This will create the decorative lines you want.
4. To prevent things from being covered with a freezer burn like the ice cream, what you need to do is to cover the surface of the ice cream with the plastic wrap and then keep it in the freezer. This will prevent the freezer burns.
5. It is not a secret that poaching an egg is difficult. But if you want to poach them nicely, then use a plastic wrap. First put it in a baking bowl and grease the wrap with some cooking spray. Crack the egg in the ramekin of the wrap and twist it to close. Dip it in a pot with boiling water for about 5 minutes and you would ave made a poached egg.
6. A plastic wrap can be used to prevent some toiletries like the shampoo from leaking while inside a travelling bag. Just place the wrap on the opening of the shampoo or conditioner then close with the cap. This will seal them completely.
7. If you were painting and never finished, you can evade washing the painting brushes by wrapping them with a plastic wrap and storing them like theta to continue the nest day.
