My favorite toy was Gak when I was young. The gooey, slimy substance could be folded, bent and squeezed and one was able to pop and bounce it. Its slimier feel and brighter colors made it even better.
I also recall it could get messy with only a few uses since getting dirt off it was not easy. I think that must have given people the idea of using the gooey slime for cleaning purposes.

Now, you seem to wonder how something that’s considered the complete opposite of clean could be used to do some cleaning work. Trust me, it works! Some have even gone ahead and come up with some homemade slime.

Borax is what most recipes out there have used. For those who fear on borax’s toxicity, liquid starch is an option. You can visit your local grocery to acquire some and this recipe uses it.

The following ingredients are needed for this recipe to be a success:
¼ cup of water
4 oz. bottle of Elmer’s glue (can be white or clear)
½ cup of Sta-Flo Liquid starch (many prefer this)
