What about inventing a nice small treat that includes a pie crust? In the tutorial below, you can easily confuse these apple pie cookies for small apples, but when you have a bite at them, they are as delicious as the very fruit that dominates the fall season.  To make these cookies, it requires a lot of time, so it is wise to look for pre-made pie crusts. Your family members can join in to help you.

The needed ingredients are:

  • One packet containing 2 pre-made pie crusts.
  • Sugar (course one)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ can. Apple pie filling

Procedure:

  • Spread two large baking papers parchment sheets.
  • Preheat oven to 3750 F.
  • Spread the apple pie filling at the center a cutting board, and by the help of a knife, cut the filling to obtain a half inch sized apple pieces.
  • Spread out a large crust on top of a cutting board, and pour the fillings on top to be like dots evenly spaced.
  • Using a brush, wet the in between filling spaces with water so that th second layer of dough can stick.
  • Carefully, place the second pie crust on the one dotted, then start pressing from the middle towards the outside so as to stick.
  • With a cookie cutter cut the pies into small pieces
  • Make sure there is a tight seal at the mini pie edges using the tines of a fork. Here now you can shape the edges by trimming them.
  • Whip an egg and add two tablespoon of water. Using a brush apply the top part with the egg mixture, followed by sprinkling some coarse of sugar on top of it.
  • Make an X cut at the middle of each mini pie.
  • Place the cookies on top of the baking sheet, allowing a two inch space between them.
  • Bake in the oven for 15-18 minutes until they turn golden brown in color. Leave them to cool before serving and enjoying!
