Sometimes a child’s innocence and kindness can leave us speechless. This is the story of a 5 year old girl named Sunshine Oelfke who made a gesture that delighted everyone’s heart.
One day the little girl came home from kindergarten and went straight to her little lot where she collected some money. She threw the contents of the bag in the center of the room and started counting her money, then put everything in a bag and put it in her backpack.

Her grandmother Jackie thought the girl was playing, but when she found the money in her backpack, she asked the little girl what she wanted to do with the money.
Sunshine told her grandmother that today in kindergarten she noticed that her classmate Laila had no money to buy milk. So he thought about taking the money out of his girlfriend’s wallet so she could buy milk like all the other kids.
“She doesn’t get milk,” said the girl, “because her mother has no money to buy milk, but I have and I want to give it to her.”

So touched by the girl’s gesture, my grandmother went to school where she met the teacher and gave her the $30 the girl raised.
Grandma Jackie told a local newspaper that her niece’s gesture melted her heart. The woman also said that her niece grew up in a difficult environment because the girl’s mother has drug problems and continues to go to and from prison.

It seems that there are at least 20 children in this kindergarten whose parents cannot buy milk for their children.
When Sunshine returned from kindergarten the next day, she was thrilled: “All the kids in my class got milk today!” said the little girl.

After Grandma shared the whole story on Facebook, people were so moved and started donating money. In just 3 weeks, $6,000 was raised for baby food at this nursery.

Grandma Jackie added: “My niece now doesn’t understand the impact I’ve been able to make and how I’ve been able to help children who needed it.”
