The Story of a Couple Reunited After 33 Years

When they were 17, Rick Hayward and Karen Lynch went out on a date. They had great moments together that would have given them no idea what was about to happen.

Convinced that everything was going normally, Karen expected Rick to call her on other dates, but this didn’t happen and she was very disappointed. “Rick didn’t call me on the second lap,” Karen recalls.

This is true for at least a few decades.

Rick was a very shy kid in high school so every time he tried to call Karen he just didn’t have the guts to do it. Days and weeks later, he was convinced the girl was upset and gave up.

But years passed, the two went to college, each formed their own band, got married and became parents. But after a few decades they broke up.

In 2010, Rick and Karen met on Facebook. 33 years later Rick was a designer and Karen called him history.

It was clear from the start that the two would be a perfect match.

“Rick is an incredible person, first of all, he is the closest friend and he has all the qualities I was looking for in a man and he has others that I didn’t know I was looking for,” Karen said.

“With Karen, I feel fulfilled again. I don’t think I really knew what “soul mate” meant until now, “  Rick explained.

Rick gave her a dream ring and asked her to be his wife, the woman was very excited but not surprised. When they instead went to New York to choose her wedding dress, Karen was intrigued to see someone helping her: even Rachel Ray, a TV talk show host.
