Given that they use items which are easily available and the end results are awesome, this is a trick to try at your party.

I like the experiment in which pepper is added into the water. A certain amount of pepper is put into a bowl that has water and when one put a finger into the solution, the pepper appears to be motionless. When some dab of soap is put at one’s finger, peppers exhibits a very interesting motion when the same water is touched.

Do you wish to know why it behaves this way? The water’s surface tension is broken down by soap and that means there is a change in surface tension when soap is introduced into the water and thus pepper exhibits the motion. At the same time, the molecules of water have to maintain their surface tension and thus pepper is seen to move away from the soap to the bowl’s sides. This kind of science is really interesting!
