I have been using tomatoes from the time I knew what working in the kitchen is all about. I thought there was nothing new I can ever learn about tomatoes until an expert came along. The expert is none other than Your Produce Guy, and in the clip below I just discovered what I have all along done wrongly.

The first tip is about the right way to slice the tomato. All that is required to do the slicing is a sharp knife and then slice across the core. The other thing you are about to learn is how to peel your tomatoes. You just place them in boiling water and after 60 seconds remove them and place them in cold water. Once they have cooled down, you will effortlessly do the peeling. The other thing is storing your tomatoes. Putting tomatoes in a refrigerator is highly discouraged since when that is done, it affects the flavor of the tomatoes. You must store them under room temperature. You must also avoid storing your tomatoes near ethylene gas producing fruits such as bananas.
