Disney World is known as “the place where dreams come true” for many reasons. Whether you are a child or an adult, the magic that brings this place to life is an experience you will never forget.

The splendor of this magical place where all the characters come to life in a meaningful way, witness an extraordinary family.

The video, which is part of Disney Parks’ Unforgettable Stories series, introduces Shaylee Mansfield and her family. Her mother and father are deaf and so is this cute little child. Shaylee’s parents didn’t have it easy at her age. Fortunately, they claim that things have changed. Shele thought a girls’ school was a safe haven because anyone can sign language. Most importantly, she likes going to school and has many friends. She is happy because she is loved, cared for and understood.

Outside of home and school it’s a different story. Because few ordinary people understand sign language, Sheila finds it difficult to talk to others, which can sometimes leave her feeling isolated.

Shaile and her sister, like most kids their age, wanted to go to Disneyland and their parents made it possible. However, they feared that Shaylee’s adventure would be incomplete if she were unable to communicate with her heroes. When they arrived, they enjoyed the beautiful day, but the highlight of the trip came when the two sisters had their picture taken with Minnie Mouse.

Minnie stunned the family after filming wrapped up. She turned to Shaylee and joined her to draw. It turns out she learned sign language so kids like Shaylee can have a thrilling ride. While it may seem like a simple gesture, the sense of belonging can mean the world.

“She felt good about herself and her tongue.” Shaylee’s father commented after making the connection with his daughter, “I made that connection.”
